| "Servin' Up Style" Celebrity Style Show | |
|
Luncheon 08-30-2010 10-21-2010 |
Friends of Trinity Medical Center announce the theme and date for their signature fundraiser, the annual Celebrity Style Show and Luncheon.
“Servin’ Up Style” will take place on Thursday, October 21, at the Radisson Hotel in Davenport. Midland Information Resources, Southeast National Bank, and Modern Woodmen will partner with Friends of Trinity to co-sponsor this event. Doors open for shopping and socializing 10 a.m., with the luncheon at noon, followed by the style show.
Proceeds from this event will support the purchase of telemedicine equipment to make local treatment available for pediatric patients of Shriners Hospitals. Currently, Shriners patients must travel back and forth to Chicago, St. Louis, or Cincinnati for follow-up care, creating an enormous strain on both the child and the family who may have to take time from school and work to show up for a 15-minute appointment. The purchase of telemedicine equipment will enable these children to receive treatment in their own community. Trinity will donate a patient room for appointments, and acquisition of this special equipment will make it possible for a nurse to work with the patient while a doctor at a Shriners location makes an assessment and facilitates the treatment for the child. There are currently 280 Shriners patients in the Quad City area who could potentially benefit.
Area celebrities will model fashions from Eme Designs, Dillard’s, Four Seasons, The Gentry Shop, The Hall Tree and Rhomberg’s Fur and Leather Gallery.
A raffle of high-end items donated by local businesses and patrons will be a highlight of the event. Prizes include a weeklong “Colorado Getaway” package; jewelry, clothing, purses, artwork, and a variety of gift certificates from local restaurants and businesses. Raffle tickets are $2 each or 3/$5 and will be on sale in September in the Trinity Gift Shops on all three campuses. Winners need not be present.
Friends of Trinity is proud to provide financial support for a variety of worthy projects and causes, including construction of Trinity College, annual scholarships for college students planning careers in health care, state-of-the-art surgical and imaging equipment, remodeling of the West Campus lobby and adjacent areas, the patient Lift Assist Equipment on all three campuses and many other projects to enhance patient care. Nearly $2 million in grants has been distributed over the past ten years.
Friends of Trinity Medical Center is comprised of 400 members who volunteer to raise funds to improve Trinity Medical Center and the healthcare of the community. All events are always open to the public. Reservations for “Servin’ Up Style” are $30 and can be made by calling the Friends of Trinity at (309) 779-2343. RSVP by Friday, Oct. 15th.
